Not just a tour —

An experience worth singing about!

I created Off The Leash Tours because I wanted to do tourism a little differently.

Because yes, the wineries, views and incredible places matter. But I've always believed how you experience them matters just as much.

The music in the car. The ridiculous conversations. The unexpected stops. The people you meet. The moments you weren't expecting to be your favourite part of the day.

That's what Off The Leash was built around.

It started with personalised Private Tours around Hobart and southern Tasmania — small groups, flexible itineraries and, of course, a little car-a-oke along the way.

Then came Silent Disco Walking Tours — swapping the vehicle for a pair of headphones and taking the fun onto the streets of Hobart.

They might look like two very different experiences, but they're built around exactly the same idea:

Forget boring. Do something different.

👩‍🦰 Female-owned and operated — proudly independent and proudly Tasmanian
🎤 Fun is part of the itinerary — from car-a-oke to dancing through Hobart
👥 Small and personal — no getting lost in the crowd
🛠️ Made for real people — flexible, relaxed and never overly scripted
💛 Local at heart — connecting guests with the people, places and businesses that make Tasmania special

Whether you're sipping wine at a tucked-away vineyard, celebrating with your favourite people or walking through Hobart wearing headphones and dancing like nobody's watching, there's one thing you can expect:

This won't feel like just another tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Off The Leash Tours?

Off The Leash Tours is a female-owned tour and experience business based in Hobart, Tasmania, offering personalised Private Tours and Silent Disco Walking Tours.

The experiences might look completely different, but they're built around the same idea — tourism should be fun, personal and memorable.

Forget boring. Do something different.

What makes Off The Leash Tours different from other Hobart tours?

I believe the whole experience matters, not just the places you visit.

Private Tours are relaxed, flexible and designed around your group. There are no scripted commentaries or rigid schedules — just great local places, plenty of personality and usually some car-a-oke between stops.

It's less about ticking attractions off a list and more about having a genuinely great day in Tasmania.

What private tours do you offer from Hobart?

Private Tours can be built around Tasmanian wine, whisky and spirits, local food, sightseeing and scenery — or a combination of all of them.

Popular touring areas include the Coal River Valley, Richmond, Huon Valley and Tasman Peninsula, along with other destinations around Hobart and Southern Tasmania.

You can choose one of our existing experiences or ask me to create something just for you.

Do you offer private wine tours from Hobart?

Absolutely. The Coal River Valley wine region is just outside Hobart and is one of my favourite areas for a day out.

Your private wine tour can include a combination of cellar doors, local food and a long lunch, with the itinerary shaped around your group rather than following a fixed winery circuit.

And yes, there's usually car-a-oke between wineries. 🎤

Can I customise my private tour?

Yes — that's a big part of what I do.

If you already have a list of places you want to visit, send it through. If you have absolutely no idea and just know you want good wine, great food and a fun day, that's fine too.

I'll help create an itinerary based on your interests, your group and the way you like to travel.

How many people can join a private tour?

My standard Private Tours are designed for up to four guests in my regular touring vehicle.

Got a bigger crew? I can also arrange private group experiences for approximately 8–50 guests using trusted local charter and coach operators.

So don't let the size of your group stop you from asking.

Do you cater for hens parties, corporate groups and special events?

Yes! Larger private experiences can be created for hens parties, birthdays, corporate groups, conference delegates, end-of-year celebrations and other special occasions.

Depending on your group, I can arrange suitable transport and build a half-day or full-day itinerary around food, wine, activities, sightseeing — or something a little different.

What is a Silent Disco Walking Tour?

Imagine a walking tour. Now remove the commentary, add wireless headphones and turn Hobart into your dance floor.

Our Silent Disco Walking Tours in Hobart are walking dance parties where everyone listens to the same music through wireless headphones while moving through the city together.

You'll sing. You'll dance. People will stare.

That's half the fun.

Are Silent Disco Walking Tours just for tourists?

Not at all!

Silent Disco Walking Tours are for Hobart locals and visitors, and you don't need to organise a group to join a public session.

If you're looking for something different to do in Hobart with friends, celebrating something or simply feel like putting on headphones and dancing through the city — come along.

What is car-a-oke?

It's karaoke — in the car. 🎤

Car-a-oke is a signature part of an Off The Leash Private Tour and makes the travelling between stops part of the fun.

There's no compulsory singing and definitely no judging of vocal ability. Although your song choices? Those may be discussed.

Do you pick up from Hobart hotels and Airbnbs?

Yes. Pick-up and drop-off from Hobart accommodation is included with Private Tours, including hotels and Airbnbs within the usual pick-up area.

Tell me where you're staying when you book and I'll confirm your arrangements. If you're staying further outside Hobart, get in touch and we'll see what we can arrange.

Can I book a private Hobart tour if I'm travelling solo?

Yes. Solo travellers are very welcome to book a Private Tour.

You get the flexibility of having the day designed around what you want to see and do, without being added to a group of strangers.

It's also a pretty good way to explore Tasmania when you'd like some local company without spending the day on a big organised tour.

What areas of Tasmania do you tour?

Off The Leash Tours is based in Hobart and specialises in Hobart and Southern Tasmania.

Depending on the experience, tours can include the Coal River Valley, Richmond, Huon Valley, Tasman Peninsula and other locations around Southern Tasmania.

Want to go somewhere that's not listed? Ask me. Custom itineraries may be possible depending on the distance and time available.

Are Off The Leash Tours experiences accessible?

Accessibility varies between our Private Tours and Silent Disco Walking Tours.

Private itineraries can often be adjusted around things like pace, walking distance, rest stops and individual requirements, although our standard touring vehicle is not wheelchair accessible.

Silent Disco Walking Tours are active outdoor experiences and have different mobility, hearing and sensory considerations.

For detailed information, visit our Accessibility page and Accessibility Guide, or contact me before booking to talk through what you need.

How does Off The Leash Tours support sustainable tourism in Tasmania?

I believe tourism should benefit the places and people we're visiting.

Off The Leash Tours supports local Tasmanian wineries, producers, restaurants, attractions and other small businesses, encourages a slower style of travel and looks for practical ways to reduce waste and operate more thoughtfully.

Our Silent Disco Walking Tours also offer a completely vehicle-free way to experience Hobart on foot.

You can read more about our commitments and future goals on the Sustainability & Positive Impact page and in our Sustainability Plan.
